Our Work: Roots Design Workshop

What they needed

Roots Design Worskhop wanted to design a minimalist website that communicated the information that first-time customers were looking for.

They needed a framework to help identify and develop the content that users of their new website would want most.

What we did

We helped Roots define their business, design and technical objectives. This allowed us to focus on the areas that would deliver the most value.

We provided Roots with a number of exercises and guidelines that helped them plan and produce their content. Once the information they needed to communicate was defined revisions were made to their site map and content templates.

Next came the sketching process which facilitated the development of an underlying grid. Once we received their finalised screen designs we documented their functional requirements and configured their content management system.

Before long they had a highly customised website that looked like they wanted and any of their team could administer. Through the use of taxonomies, custom fields and post types they now have a design that is focused on the needs of their users, and a content management system that supports their future needs.

Collaborating with the talented designers at Roots has been a pleasure and we look forward to working with them in the future.
